° Meeting Internazionale Insigniti FIAP

La loro passione ed il loro infinito amore per la fotografia li ha riuniti tutti assieme in Sicilia per condividere momenti unici di creatività e comprendere a fondo l’arte della fotografia e non solo ….!
Sessanta autori ed insigniti FIAP provenienti da venti differenti nazioni sparse attorno al globo si sono sottoposti a viaggi di diverse migliaia di chilometri per il puro piacere di incontrarsi nella terra magica delle sirene e dei ciclopi – la Sicilia. Tutti gli elementi erano presenti perché il tutto si tramutasse in un evento unico: il fuoco ed il ghiaccio dell’Etna, i tre mari che abbracciano l’isola, la terra fertile con i suoi vigneti e gli oliveti, i teatri degli antichi Greci ed i mosaici romani ma soprattutto il grande cuore dei fotografi siciliani del Gruppo Fotografico “Le Gru” che hanno dato il benvenuto a tutti i loro amici internazionali dando vita ad un meeting interculturale.
La parola fotografia proviene dal greco “PHOS” che significa “luce” e da “GRAFO” che vuol dire “io scrivo”. Pertanto attraverso la scrittura della luce, il mondo si è rivelato davanti i loro occhi ed ha permesso loro di vedere immagini ed avere emozioni alle quali non avevano mai fatto caso prima. Come in tutte le forme d’arte anche la fotografia crea la propria realtà. Traduce l’intensità dei momenti con un’immediatezza unica, con vigore e spontaneità esperienza che tutti coloro che hanno preso parte al meeting hanno potuto vivere viaggiando assieme per sette giorni da Catania a Taormina, alle pendici dell’Etna, Agrigento, Piazza Armerina, Siracusa e Aci Castello.
Accompagnati dalle loro attrezzature fotografiche hanno viaggiato per chilometri per condividere le loro esperienze, il loro sapere, e per catturare delle istantanee attorno all’isola. Nelle serate, al rientro in Hotel, stanchi ma ancora carichi di spirito positivo ed energia, hanno trascorso diverse ore guardando e commentando le proiezioni di diversi autori/partecipanti al meeting e proiezioni organizzate dalla Federazioni Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche o dal Gruppo Fotografico “Le Gru”.
Il primo incontro degli insigniti FIAP ha dimostrato che l’arte della fotografia è in grado di raggruppare persone al di là delle barriere culturali e linguistiche in quanto la fotografia ha un linguaggio che le è proprio e che può essere compreso solo attraverso un cuore e dei sensi molto aperti.
Di ritorno nelle loro terre d’origine dopo il meeting (Argentina, Belgio, Croazia, Cipro, Finlandia, Grecia, Ungheria, Irlanda, Lussemburgo, Olanda, Nuova Zelanda, Romania, Santo Domingo, Serbia, Spagna, Svizzera, Slovenia, Turchia, Ucraina ed Italia …) gli autori ed i vari insigniti FIAP guardano innanzi in attesa del loro prossimo meeting internazionale che si terrà a Creta (Grecia) nel giugno del 2009 !!!
Una selezione delle foto/istantanee realizzate dai vari autori durante il meeting siciliano verrà raccolta e posta in un DVD che verrà offerto a tutte le nazioni partecipanti alla FIAP, ai vari club e all’UNESCO.

1st FIAP International Photo Meeting Sicily 03-10 June 2007

Their passion and unconditional love for photography attracted them all together to Sicily to share unique moments of creativity and understanding of the art of photography and not only…!
Fifty authors and Masters from 20 different countries from around the globe have traveled thousands of miles just for the pleasure of getting together in the magic land of mermaids and Cyclops – Sicily.
All the elements where there to create a unique event : The fire and ice of Mount Etna, the three seas that embrace the island, the fertile earth with the vineyards and olive trees, the ancient Greek theatres and roman mosaics but most of all the open heart of the Sicilian photographers from the photo club “ Le Gru” who welcomed all their international friends and host their intercultural meeting.
The word photography comes from the Greek words PHOS which means light and GRAFO which means I write. So by writing the light, the world was revealed before their eyes and allowed them to see images and emotions to which they may have never before paid attention. As with all forms of Art, photography creates its own reality. It transfixes the intensity of the moment with unique immediacy, vividness and spontaneity and this is exactly what they have all shared traveling for seven days from Catania to Taormina, to Mount Etna, Messina, Aci Castello and Siracusa.
With cameras and lenses on their shoulders they have crossed kilometers sharing their experiences and knowledge and took snap shots alongside the island. And in the evenings, on their return back to their hotel in Catania, tired but full of positive spirit and energy, they were spending long hours watching and commenting on projections from the several authors /participants as well as projections organized by the Italian Federation and the Sicilian Photo Club “Le Gru”.
The 1st FIAP International Photo Meeting has proven that the art of photography can put people together without any cultural limitations or language barriers, as photography has a language of its own that can be understood only through an open heart and open senses.
Back to their homelands after the meeting ( Argentina ,Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Luxemburg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Santo Domingo, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and Italy… ) the authors and Masters of FIAP look forward to their next International Meeting which will take place in Crete / Greece in June 2009 !!!
A selection of photos / snap shots, that have been taken from the several authors/ Masters during their meeting in Sicily will be put together for the creation of a DVD that will be offered to all the FIAP members countries and clubs as well as to the Unesco.
